Sara Tuchinsky was a Starfleet transporter chief assigned to the USS Enterprise-A in the late 2280s and early 2290s. She joined Starfleet to "see the universe."

History[]

In 2287, Tuchinsky was on transporter duty when the Enterprise was attempting to rescue the Nasgulian rebel Argus from Kroitz. She managed to transport Argus off his exploding vessel at the last moment, attributing the rescue to "modern technology." (TOS comics: , "The Return!") She later transported R.J. Blaise to the Enterprise. (TOS comic: "Repercussions") At New Brinden, Tuchinsky was hypnotized by Ensign Fouton to beam him into Prefect Witten's bed chamber so he could infect him with the disease ravaging New Brinden. However she had no memory of the transport nor of Fouton. (TOS comic: "Cure All") Later that year, she had to transport Captain James T. Kirk off of Sweeney's vessel shortly before he triggered an explosion. Due to the tricky nature of the transport, Montgomery Scott took charge of the operation, but Tuchinsky said she liked to see a master at work. (TOS comic: "... Gone!") She later transported Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Chekov to Starfleet Headquarters for Kirk's trial. (TOS comic: "The First Thing We Do...")

In 2291, Tuchinsky operated the transporter to insert a landing party onto a Klingon mobile battle base. (TOS - Mere Anarchy eBook: The Blood-Dimmed Tide)
