Sarah Jane Smith was a Human journalist of the late 20th century, that worked for the United Association Press.

On September 17, 1992 she wrote an article titled "Mystery Commandoes [sic] Steal Advanced Space Ship" describing an interview with Lin Haur and Chao Jyalin of the Jiuquan Satellite Base, following the theft of a DY-100 spaceship. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)

This appears to be a reference to the character Sarah Jane Smith from the Doctor Who franchise.
