The Savior class[1], also known as Cruiser class[2], was a 24th century Vidiian[3] starship class, a cruiser[2], battlecruiser[1] and warship[1] in Vidiian Sodality[1] service in the 2370s[3] decade. At the time, it was the largest[2] starship type in the Vidiian fleet and its first full battlecruiser[1]. (VOY episode: "Deadlock"; Star Trek Adventures module: Delta Quadrant Sourcebook; CCG set: Voyager, card: "Vidiian Cruiser")

Specifications[]

This type of Vidiian starship consisted of a broad, rectangular primary hull that ended in as large impulse engine. Pincers were attached to the bow. Rows of windows indicated a number of decks along the ships superstructure. Connected through a pair of nacelle pylons and the aft and at the bow. Massive nacelle pylons flanked the primary hull on either side. (The Official Starships Collection Issue 179: "Vidiian Starship")

The configuration resembled the Reptohumanoid's ship, only lacking a large section attached to the pylons. (VOY episode: "Parturition")

Ships of the Savior class were 500 meters long and 700 meters wide. (Star Trek Adventures module: Delta Quadrant Sourcebook)

The smaller Vidiian warship was also wider than long. (The Official Starships Collection Issue 103: "Vidiian Warship")

The crew complement exceeded 350. The hull material appeared a rust-colored metal. When preying on another starship, this vessel physically grappled itself to the hull of the target. (VOY episode: "Deadlock")

This boarding claw allowed a Vidiian boarding party to quickly enter another ship to try and overwhelm its crew. Deflector shields protected Cruiser-class vessels. (CCG set: Voyager, card: "Vidiian Cruiser")

Offensive weaponry included particle beam cannons and photon torpedo, rapid-fire launchers. Like all Vidiian vessels, the ships facilities included advanced sickbays and medical science facilities to upkeep the crew's fight against the Phage and continue searching for a cure.

While it was named Savior class by the Sodality, to outsiders this class was known as the Warship. (Star Trek Adventures module: Delta Quadrant Sourcebook)

Service history[]

Savior class

A Savior-class starship in the 2370s.

Drenol commanded a ship of this class in the year 2371. (CCG set: Second Edition, cards: "Vidiian Cruiser", "Drenol")

When Kes travelled back in time from 2376 to 2371, she contacted Drenol[4] to organise the capture of USS Voyager and its crew. (VOY episode: "Fury")

In 2372, a ship of this class captured Voyager near Avery III. At the time, Voyager experienced a spatial scission, causing two Voyagers to occupy the same point in spacetime. After 347 Vidiians had boarded one of the Federation vessel, Captain Kathryn Janeway activated her ship's self destruct. The destruction of Voyager also immolated the Savior-class battlecruiser. (VOY episode: "Deadlock")

Intelligence briefings by Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway and other officers at Starfleet Command included technical specifications and tactical considerations for Vidiians and their Savior-class battlecruisers in the year 2379. Starfleet was aware that the Vidiians had been cured from the Phage by then. (Star Trek Adventures module: Delta Quadrant Sourcebook)
