Science Station 187

Science Station 187 was a Federation science space station located in orbit of Gateway.

History[]

By the year 2270, the station's commanding officer was Commander Willis Keloway. Science Station 187 contacted Starfleet after the Guardian of Forever seemed to reset itself.

After Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock used the Guardian to travel back in time, the temporal waves in the system began to increase in severity, which resulted in ruptures along seventy percent of Science Station 187's main seams.

The USS Enterprise received the station's distress call and attempt to use their tractor beams to assist in moving the station out of range of the temporal waves. However, the force from the Enterprise's tractor beam added to the station's hull stress levels. Science Station 187 began to break up, but it's personnel were all transported aboard before the station was destroyed.

After Kirk and Spock restored the timeline, they were returned to the present by the Guardian. The station was also brought back by the Guardian, and it's crew was returned from the Enterprise. Enterprise chief engineer Montgomery Scott remained onboard for several weeks to make sure that the Guardian got everything right when it restored Science Station 187.
