Science class

The Science-class was a type of starship used by the Romulan Star Empire's Star Navy in the late 24th and early 25th centuries.

History[]

The RIS Talvath, a ship of this class, was assigned to do a three-year mission doing "secret research" beginning in the year 2350. (VOY episode: "Eye of the Needle")

The RIS Apnex conducted experiments on an interphase generator in 2368. (CCG set: Premiere; WizKids module: Attack Wing)

By 2409, this class was also in use by the Romulan Republican Force. The RRF designated it the Talon-class commander's gig, an auxiliary vessel awarded to notable starship commanders. It's components were interchangeable with the Jarok-class commander's gig. The Talon-class was available for Reman officers as well. (STO - Legacy of Romulus mission: "Explore the Flotilla")
