Scots shortbread was a type of bread dish popular in Scotland in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

While growing up in Scotland, Montgomery Scott often visited his grandparents, and his grandmother would serve Scots shortbread and tea as an afternoon snack. She nearly always topped it with blanched almonds and candied orange peels, which traditionally was done when served on New Year's Eve.

In the 2260s decade, Scott gave Nurse Christine Chapel a recipe for Scots shortbread. She adapted the dish to be served by the USS Enterprise's food processors, formulated with butter, sugar, flour, rice flour, salt, baking powder, and water, with an optional almond or orange peel topping.
