The Scryer-class was Federation intel starship science vessel class developed by Starfleet Intelligence for intelligence gathering operations in the Delta Quadrant. The Scryer-class science vessel was designed to perform deep-space espionage missions without being detected. The class was launched in 2410 and the first Federation science vessel type to carry a cloaking device. Additional special systems included active sensor arrays to expose a target's vulnerabilities, and a console to operate a sensor probe swarm. The console enabled the deployment of dozens of probes to harass enemy starships by weakening its shields. These small probes were also capable of exposing cloaked foes.
Ships of the class required a minimum rank of Vice Admiral of a commanding officer. Its bridge crew consisted of two science officers, ranked commander and lieutenant commander, respectively; one lieutenant commander engineer, one lieutenant tactical officer and one seat open for an ensign of any department.
The Scryer-class was part of a series of starship classes developed for deep-space intelligence operations, along with the Eclipse-, Guardian- and Phantom-classes. (STO video game: Delta Rising)
