Sean Liam Hawk was a human male in Starfleet in the 24th century.

Hawk was born in Bradbury City on Mars, the third son of Rhyst and Camille Hawk. He was descended from early Martian settlers who had fought in the War for Martian Independence.

Hawk entered Starfleet Academy as soon as he was old enough, and excelled academically, leading his instructors to believe he had an eidetic (photographic) memory. He was also recognized for his athletic and interpersonal skills.

His first assignment was to the USS Yorktown under Captain Kentrav. He transfered to the USS Enterprise-E as soon as that ship was launched in 2372. He served as conn officer on both ships, where he displayed superior reflexes to the majority of his crewmates. As of stardate 50368.0, he had earned twenty-three separate commendations from his superiors.

Hawk's talents brought him to the attention of Section 31, who tried to recruit him as an agent during the Enterprise's mission to Chiaros IV. Despite the persuasive efforts of Ambassador Aubin Tabor and Commander Cortin Zweller, Hawk declined, and instead revealed their efforts to Captain Picard.

As an Academy cadet, Hawk was in a year-long romantic relationship with a fellow cadet named Logan. In 2371, he met Lieutenant Commander Ranul Keru while on shore leave on Risa. They began a long-term relationship, both joining the Enterprise-E crew together. (TNG novel: Section 31: Rogue)

In 2373, during an attempted Borg takeover of the Enterprise, Hawk was attacked during an EVA maneuver by a Borg drone and injected with nanoprobes. Hawk was shot by Lieutenant Commander Worf, throwing him into space. His body was never recovered, and presumed to have been incinerated in descent into Earth's atmosphere. (movie: Star Trek: First Contact)
