Background[]
- The correspondent wrote that they'd never know what the Tribble homeworld had been like. It seemed odd that Koloth wouldn't have kept any computer records of the place before his crew destroyed it a century earlier. Perhaps that data was restricted, and thus inaccessible to the journalist.
- The notion that the Federation was first exposed to tribbles in 2267 would later be contradicted in canon by ENT episode: "The Breach", as Phlox was shown keeping tribbles aboard Enterprise in 2153. A Starfleet science team in the 2250s also studied them in Short Treks episode: "The Trouble with Edward". In the Kelvin timeline, either Montgomery Scott or Keenser kept a pet tribble on Delta Vega in 2258 in TOS movie: Star Trek.
- IKS Gr'oth and Uhura were not cited by name.
