Sector 47-B was a sector of space in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. Although not a part of the Federation, Sector-47-B was not considered the frontier. The planet Makkus lay at its outer edge. Corinder was located in a neighboring star system. Starfleet thought of the sector as less "wild and woolly" than Sector 221-G. (NF novel: Restoration)
History
In 2376, Starfleet assigned the USS Exeter to Sector 47-B. The Exeter was tasked to extend an invitation to join the Federation to the Makkusians. At that time, the region around Makkus was peaceful, and the indigenous civilizations did not threaten one another. (NF novel: Restoration)
