Sector 48472 was a region of space, a sector located in the the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. Alungis IV, the Nenlar homeworld, was found in this sector. It is the fourth planet from the central star in the Alungis system. (VOY - Gateways novel: No Man's Land)

Sector 48472 lay in the Beta Quadrant, home to the world of Qo'noS. However, according to Starfleet officer Kathryn Janeway, nowhere near the Klingon Empire. (VOY - Gateways novel: No Man's Land)

History[]

Centuries before the 2370s, the Iudka raided Alungis IV and plunged it into war. The planet's native species, the fear-driven Nenlar, clawed their way back to a stable civilization and developed space travel.

In 2376, a Nenlar scout vessel traversed numerous Iconian gateways during the Gateway Crisis, and ended up in the No Man's Land of the Delta Quadrant. The Federation vessel Delta Flyer found Ara's scout and returned it and its starving crew, Ara and Torar, to USS Voyager. Starfleet learned of the sector and its history from the Nenlar and the databank of their vessel. (VOY - Gateways novel: No Man's Land)
