Seeds of Dissent (STO)

"Seeds of Dissent" was a mission in the Star Trek Online video game. It used to be the twelfth mission of the "Cardassian Struggle" episode, but was removed from the game when the arc was revamped for Season 11: New Dawn on 27 October 2015.

Mission text (Federation): <rank>, the Cardassian colony at Goralis III has asked for Federation assistance.; Their water table has been contaminated, and the purifiers they have aren't up to the task of cleaning their water supply.; I have six new Class VIII water purifiers sitting in Cargo Bay 6. This is a good chance to put them to use as well as strengthen our ties with the Cardassians.; We're having trouble with power failures on in the cargo bay doors today, so it might be easier if you transport the purifiers directly to your ship. I'll send your transporter chief the details.

Their water table has been contaminated, and the purifiers they have aren't up to the task of cleaning their water supply.; I have six new Class VIII water purifiers sitting in Cargo Bay 6 at Deep Space 9. This is a good chance to put them to use as well as strengthen our ties with the Cardassians.; I suspect you may have some thoughts about far-flung colonies just trying to survive on their own. I've pulled a few strings to offer you the opportunity to extend a diplomatic branch to these colonists.

Mission text (Romulan, Klingon-aligned): <rank>, the Cardassian colony at Goralis III has asked for Federation assistance. Their water table has been contaminated, and the purifiers they have aren't up to the task of cleaning their water supply.; Normally we would never waste time on something like this, but this gives an excellent opportunity to observe the colony up close. True Way elements have been a continuous nuisance in this part of the galaxy and we must remain vigilant against the possibility that any Cardassian colony could be harboring dissidents.; I'm sure you have some opinions regarding rag-tag bands of survivors eking out a living on a frontier world, so I've pulled a few strings to give the <ship name> access. You can pass yourself off as a sympathetic survivor trying to help others, or an ally of the Klingon Empire investigating security issues. I leave the choice to you.
