A seismic probe is a piece of technology, a probe mechanism that measures planetary seismology. Devices of this type were used by the Tarn forces on the planet Torgu-Va.

History and specifications[]

The seismic probe was used to look for the Human underground cities and outposts by detecting perturbations created by underground air pumps. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)

In 2274, seismic probes from the Federation starship USS Enterprise reported Richter scale magnitude-12 earthquake tremors occurring every nine minutes on Argus IV. (TOS comic: "It's a Living")
