Selim Aziz was a human male of Tunisian descent. He was a flag officer in the Federation Starfleet in the 23rd century.
In 2268, Admiral Aziz was the director of Starfleet Intelligence. He contacted Lieutenant junior grade T'Prynn on Starbase 47-Vanguard from his office in Starfleet Headquarters following her interview with Cervantes Quinn and the intelligence report she submitted. Once he learned that Quinn remembered details of Shedai technology from his last mission for Starfleet Intelligence, Aziz ordered T'Prynn to "covertly neutralize" him. (VAN novel: Storming Heaven)
