Seneca class

The Seneca class was a 25th century Federation starship type, a tier 6-rated command carrier class derived from the 23rd century Hiawatha-class medical frigate, in Starfleet and Khitomer Alliance service from the 2410s decade. History and specifics[]

Starfleet fitted the USS Seneca and its sister ships with a console that could deploy a non-baryonic buffer field. The Seneca deployed this field during combat to trap opponents in a sort of "temporal morass.

As a carrier starship, the Seneca class could deploy small craft for combat. By default, the command carrier's hangar bay was home to Yellowstone-class runabouts.

At one point, the Seneca and the Valdres-class command strike wing escort USS Valdres performed maneuvers with their embarked combat craft near a star. (STO website: Ascension: The Agile Classics Ship Bundle!)
