Senna Tal was a Federation citizen, a male joined Trill in Starfleet service in the 32nd century. He was the fifth host of the Trill symbiont Tal. (DSC episode: "Forget Me Not")

Biography[]

As a child, Senna's parents used to sing a lullaby to him. This lullaby could also be played on a cello without lyrics. (DSC episode: "Forget Me Not")

By the 3170s decade, Senna Tal had been joined with the Tal symbiont and reached the rank of admiral in what remained of Starfleet. In 3177, he was on Earth, a former Federation world, to see snow and sent a message asking for Starfleet personnel to reconvene there. He left United Earth in 3187 on a ship but died. (DSC episodes: "People of Earth", "Die Trying")

Before dying, Admiral Tal spoke with fellow trill Gray. He told Gray and his partner Adira Tal about how he was dying of hereditary trill disease. The admiral told Gray that he would be Tal's next host despite being far from Trill.(DSC - Adventures in the 32nd Century comic: "Issue 2")

The Tal symbiont was then joined with the Trill orphan Gray aboard a generation ship. When it was critically damaged and Gray Tal lay dying, Gray's Human partner volunteered as a host. (DSC episode: "Forget Me Not")

While searching for her time-displaced ship, the USS Discovery, Commander Michael Burnham and her acting communications chief Aditya Sahil received Admiral Tal's roll call at the unnamed Federation relay station in 3188. When Burnham, who started working as a courier but was unable to reach Earth, found Discovery, the 23rd century science vessel used its spore drive to jump to the Sol system. There, United Earth Defense Force captain Ndoye informed the Discovery crew of Senna's death. Fortunately, EDF inspector Adira had been joined with the Tal symbiont. Adira was unable to access any long-term memories. (DSC episode: "People of Earth")

Discovery jumped to Trill, where Adira was able to access their own, host's and the symbiont's memories while immersed in the pools of the Caves of Mak'ala. Adira's memories were restored, and in the mindscape, the circle of previous hosts met to greeted Adira. Admiral Senna Tal welcomed the Human to the circle of hosts. He provided the coordinates of the Federation Headquarters to Adira, who shared them with Commander Burnham. (DSC episode: "Forget Me Not")

Insignia[]

In the mindscape, Admiral Senna Tal appeared in a gray 32nd century Starfleet uniform. The combadge was a gold Starfleet delta on silver ground. The red collar had a pair of down-facing double chevrons on either side of the neck. Each shoulder epaulet featured a golden frame with six chevrons. (DSC episode: "Forget Me Not")

A five-star insignia would denote a fleet admiral. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
