Sha'Kurians are an ancient, xenophobic, amphibious species that evolved within the Delta Quadrant, where they formed a mighty empire which lasted for hundreds of years until civil war rampaged within their nation, nearly destroying the species. Survivors escaped into the Beta Quadrant where they formed the Sha'Kurian Ducal Territories which continued unharmed and fought off attacks from both the Romulan Star Empire and Klingon Empire.
