Shad Ona was a Bajoran living in the late 24th century.
Ona ran for the position of President of the United Federation of Planets in 2392, and came in third place. Aennik Okeg won the election, followed by Jaed Maz; Okeg then offered cabinet positions to Maz and Ona in order to promote unity. (ST website: The Path to 2409)
