Shannon was a female Human in Starfleet in the 24th century.
Shannon worked in the field of medicine and for several years maintained a correspondence with Julian Bashir. In 2376, while serving on the USS Aldebaran as a medical researcher, she took the opportunity to finally meet Bashir when the starship was assigned to protect Deep Space 9 while the station underwent a refit. Unfortunately she was on board the Aldebaran when it was attacked and destroyed by a trio of Jem'Hadar vessels and was killed in the attack along with the rest of her crewmates.
