Shansar was a star system located near Epsilon Carinae in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.
History and specifics[]
The Shansar system's orbit was the location of a number of planets, including second planet Shansar II and fourth planet Shansar IV.
In the 23rd century, Shansar was located between the expanding territories of the United Worlds of the Kaldorni Systems and Beystohn Amalgamated League of Planets, within range of their limited spaceflight technologies.
In 2274, the Kaldorni Worlds and Beystohn League filed competing exploitation rights claims to expand their territories into the Epsilon Carinae system. When its second planet was discovered to be inhabited, the Federation proposed Shansar II and Shansar IV as alternate sites to colonize. (TOS novel: Enemy Unseen)
