The Shapers of Sarkadesh were a highly advanced civilization of beings that valued peace and quiet above all.
History and specifics[]
After the Klingon Empire had proved its might against the Gorn and the Hur'q, the Shapers made an agreement with the Klingons to let them claim their star system as part of their empire in exchange for being left unbothered.
Still, their reputation as fantastic engineers spread through Klingon society and the galaxy. (ST - Godshock comic: "Part 2")
In the years that followed the Dominion War, Kahless, seeking to eradicate all god-like lifeforms, invaded Sarkadesh armed with the Bajoran Orb of Destruction, threatening to destroy the planet. (ST - Godshock comics: "Part 4", "Part 5")
Cowed, the Shapers did as Kahless asked and built him what he desired. When the USS Theseus arrived on Sarkadesh, the Shapers, furious at the intrusion and recognizing Benjamin Sisko as the Emissary of the Prophets, threatened to destroy the crew before Data convinced them of the worth of organic lifeforms. Though the Shapers would not provide the United Federation of Planets with the blueprints of the "godkiller array" that they had built for Kahless, they provided the Theseus with a bloodied D'k tahg as a clue.
