Sharifi was a 23rd century Human woman. She was the Commandant of Starfleet Academy in 2293.
Biography[]
Sharifi crash-landed on Danula II when she was a child. She survived for a long period on foot over rugged terrain to where she eventually was rescued, at least according to Starfleet tradition.
She was the person responsible for creating the Academy Marathon, and choosing Danula II as its location. Either she once crash landed there, or she picked the place at random, no one knows for sure.
The Sharifi Landing Site on Danula II was named in the commandant's honor. Sharifi's first marathon was held to commemorate the signing of the Khitomer Accords, and the race's routes generally went between the crash site to her rescue site. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "The Footfalls of Tradition")
- Anderson presided over final examinations for the class of 2293, in TOS novel: Sarek. As the Accords were signed in mid-August 2293, presumably Sharifi succeeded Anderson and was in office beginning in fall 2293 to supervise the class of 2294.
