The Shavokh was one of the sixteen colony ships that left Vulcan during the Sundering. It was one of the seven vessels that survived to reach the Romulan system. (TOS - Rihannsu novel: The Romulan Way)
Karatek, leader of the Shavokh ship-clan, resolved to colonize Remus and develop a settlement there. Karatek and his people were betrayed by the other clans, and left to toil the planet as slaves. The survivors evolved into the Reman species. (TOS - Vulcan's Soul novel: Epiphany)
