The Shgin were a "war-like" humanoid species, presumably from the same galactic region as El-Auria, who were destroyed many centuries ago by the Borg. Delcara was the only survivor.
Other than the fact that Delcara sought refuge among the El-Aurians prior to their destruction and scattering by the Borg, little is known about this externally very human-like species.
