The shield array is a device used on starships' deflector shield.

History and specifications[]

In 2368, while traveling through the Black Cluster, Geordi La Forge ran an additional five fusion reactors through the USS Enterprise-D's shield array, theoretically doubling the shield strength. (TNG episode: "Hero Worship")

In 2373, the Female Q's instructions to the USS Voyager's crew on how to enter the Q Continuum required a complete reconfiguration of the ship's shield array. (VOY episode: "The Q and the Grey")

The shield array of California-class starships were capable of auto-repair, which was regulated by an isolinear core. (LDs episode: "Terminal Provocations")
