Shmun was a fictional character in the novel The Arduous Journey of T'lana on the Road to Enlightenment, or Vulcan Love Slave, and the holosuite programs based on it. Shmun was romantically involved with T'lana. (DS9 novel: Legends of the Ferengi)

In 2375, Quark encountered the mirror universe's Ezri Tigan, and initially assuming she was Ezri Dax, mistook her violent actions as roleplay. Quark told her to call him Shmun, believing she was playing T'lana. (DS9 episode: "The Emperor's New Cloak")
