Silash ch'Gesrit was an Andorian chan who served as an officer in the Federation Starfleet in the 22nd century.
History[]
By 2165, he held the rank of commander and served as the chief engineer of the USS Vol'Rala.
In June of that year, he was part of the boarding party that infiltrated the Ware hub complex. He, along with Abramson Industries specialists Philip Collier and Olivia Akomo was charged with breaking the coding of the Ware to shut them down. While working, the three of them had a philosophical argument whether or not they should reprogram the Ware technology to their own advantage. ch'Gesrit stuck to his point that the Ware technology, although tempting, is inhumane and should be destroyed per their orders and at the end it swayed Collier to help shut it down. In October 2165, ch'Gesrit died with the rest of the crew, protecting the fleeing citizens of the Partnership of Civilizations planet Cotesc from an invading Klingon fleet. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code)
