Simok (born circa 2128 or 2129) was a Vulcan quantum physicist active in the 22nd and 23rd centuries.

Biography[]

Prior to the year 2269, Simok had served as an administrator at the Central Research Institute of Aldebaran III. In that year, Simok was appointed to the Chronal Assessment Committee because of his scientific expertise. After the formation of the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations the following year, Simok was appointed deputy director.

In 2275, Deputy Director Simok was promoted to Director of the Department of Temporal Investigations after the events involving Timeship Two (consisting of an illegally-obtained Vedala drive) forced the resignation of Director Meijan Grey. (DTI novel: Forgotten History)

In 2279, after the resolution of the vacuum flare crisis involving primordial "plasma beings", Starfleet Admiral Lance Cartwright consulted DTI Director Simok on the possibility of temporal consequences from contacting lifeforms living in the moments following the Big Bang. Simok was able to assuage Cartwright's fears by having Doctor T'Viss explain that changes to history were effectively impossible due to the ephemeral nature of the plasma beings' state of the universe. (TOS novel: Living Memory)
