A skimmerway is a dedicated route for skimmer traffic.
On the planet Ferenginar, skimmerways were designed and built by the Ferengi Skimmerway Construction Department. Ferenginar's skimmerways were also notoriously unsafe, given that their design was primarily intended to imprint specific patterns, in the form of advertising slogans, as distraction in the brains of Ferengi skimmer drivers.
