Supreme Legate Dukat

Skrain G. Dukat, a prominent Legate in the Cardassian's mirror counterpart military, was the Supreme Legate of the Central Command by 2372. (Mirror Universe novel: Shards and Shadows) In 2375, he sponsored his lover, Bajoran Minister Ro Laren, to become the new Intendant of Bajor. With her in the position, he was hopeful that they would make Cardassia the dominant power within the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. After Ro's arrest for treason, Bajoran First Minister Li Nalas considered a re-evaluation of Cardassia's influence over Bajoran affairs. (DS9 novel: Saturn's Children)

After these events, Dukat continued serving as Supreme Legate of the Central Command. Dukat began pressing for and planning the invasion and occupation of Bajor as revenge for their succession from the Alliance and Ro Laren's treason. However, before the invasion could take place, Dukat was killed by his second in command, Damar, in full view of the entire Cardassian people, who was acting under the telepathic manipulation of one of his Vulcan's mirror counterpart slaves. Damar ultimately succeeded him as Supreme Legate. (Mirror Universe novel: Rise Like Lions)
