- The Enterprise has been ordered to Akavan III, where a Maquis cell is threatening that Federation's colony's 1.2 billion inhabitants. The Maquis are demanding that the Federation reclaim settlements lost to the Cardassians in the Demilitarized Zone. Even if the Federation were willing to consider demands from terrorists, such an action would violate our treaty with the Cardassians and potentially send us into a war. It is also extremely unusual for Maquis activity to take place this far inside Federation space. If this is an escalation of their hostilities, it is our charge to stop it in its tracks.
