The Slaughter of Sector 108 was a massive loss for the United Federation of Planets against a Borg Cube that could "absorb" (assimilate) starships into its hull.
Three dozen starships engaged the cube on its way to Earth, but most were absorbed into the Borg Collective. The entire battle took ninety-seven seconds. The USS Nautilus was one of the few ships that managed to retreat.
