A slugboy was a person in Ferengi culture of the past, who herded wooly slugs. Prior to Ferengi first contact with the Klingons, slugboys were held up as prime examples of toughness. One of the most successful slugboys ever was a man named Nix, though he gave up slug herding not long after being robbed by another slugboy known only as "the Slugboy With No Name".
