An old model 331-9A fusion-reactor powered scientific probe

The Smithsonian Annex was a large museum complex located on planet Nova Atar III by the late 2260s.

The administration at the museum banned equipment being brought into the museum by visitors, and had the Annex equipped with a forcefield which prevented unauthorized beaming and prevented the theft of artifacts.

Amongst the artifacts on display in the Annex in 2269, were several interesting exhibits:

  • - The spacesuit worn by Ivan Petrovski, a 21st century cosmonaut who saved the SS Commonwealth in orbit above Mars, during the famous Commonwealth Mission
  • - The NIVEN, an early Vulcan Computer
  • - An old model B17 phaser cannon, rescued from a Federation scrap yard, and once deployed near the frontier world Nellepoor
  • - An antique model Model 331-9A Federation scientific probe
  • - De-classified information salvaged from the wreckage of a Klingon Warbird, the Klarg, including the ship's control console
  • - A crystalline computer of Lantoid design
  • - An early model of transporter, the Murnane VIII

In 2269, the complex was taken over by Ocanan terrorists for a short period of time. Thankfully, the situation was defused by the senior officers of the USS Enterprise. (TOS video game: Judgment Rites)
