The Smithsonian Orbital Annex was a space station located in Earth orbit.

History and specifics[]

It was an annex of the Smithsonian Institution museum and was operational in the 22nd and 23rd centuries.

In 2162 and 2163, the Enterprise NX-01 was exhibited at the annex. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: A Choice of Futures)

In 2270, after returning after James T. Kirk's famous five-year mission, the starship USS Enterprise was exhibited at the annex for public visitation for several months prior to the start of her refitting, with her engines and control systems removed. Montgomery Scott was uncomfortable with tourists aboard, but was happy for visitors who could appreciate the vessel's engineering. (DTI novel: Forgotten History)
