Sodom and Gomorrah were two cities which were described as being destroyed by the Judeo-Christian God in Book of Genesis of the Bible.

In 2370, Miles O'Brien commented that the turbulent weather conditions on Bajor that were affecting McHogue's dangerous cortical induction holosuite business was like divine retribution and that: "McHogue must have played hooky the day they talked about Sodom and Gomorrah at school". Odo had not heard of Sodom and Gomorrah and thought they were worlds. O'Brien commented that everybody was unfamiliar with Sodom and Gomorrah by that time. (DS9 novel: Warped)
