On reference stardate 0/7404.17, the Solarian News Agency covered the first Earth transmission using subspace communications technology. The agency's CEO Adam Willheight personally covered the event from the message's origin point at the FarPluto Transmitting Platform. He also touted the influence of his agency by pointing out that SNA had been granted the first block of access time on the new network.
SNA was known in particular for providing objective media coverage of the Earth-Romulan War. (FASA RPG module: The Romulan War)
On reference stardate 0/8804, the agency and a number of other services were consolidated into the United Federation of Planets Infonet. (FASA RPG modules: The Federation, The Romulan War)
- The FASA RPG used a timeline in which the Romulan War occurred nearly 20 years after the foundation of the Federation, with the war being covered by UFPI reporters. However, Star Trek: Enterprise later canonically placed the Romulan War shortly before foundation, 2155–2160. Adapting SNA's history to this chronology suggests that war correspondents worked instead for SNA.
