In 1986, Sommers was serving as United States President Ronald Reagan's translator while he was in Reykjavik, Iceland meeting with Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev to discuss the reduction of nuclear weapons in their country's arsenals. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

Sommers is described as being an attractive blond woman, and Roberta Lincoln noted that she had "quite a grip." This, along with her name and former occupation, imply that she is the same person as Jaime SommersWP, the protagonist of The Bionic WomanWP.
