Sontor was a 23rd century Vulcan male. By the mid-2260s, Sontor was serving as a sciences division ensign in Starfleet, assigned to the USS Constellation.

In late 2266, Sontor was assigned to work in the Constellation's Sensor Control Center during the starship's two-week survey of the Beta Proxima neutron star. Following the Constellation's diversion to Alpha Proxima II, Sontor remained on duty in the sensor room alongside Lieutenant (j.g.) Chaoyang Soo. They were both later contacted by Chief Science Officer Guillermo Masada and asked to pull up all data that they had about General Order 16 and the Malkus Artifacts.

He then accompanied Masada to a briefing of senior officer's from both the Constellation and the USS Enterprise regarding the plague which had broken out on Alpha Proxima and its relation to the Malkus Artifacts. (TOS - The Brave and the Bold, Book One novella: The First Artifact)

Sontor presumably perished with the rest of the Constellation crew in 2267 during the encounter with an ancient "planet killer" depicted in TOS episode: "The Doomsday Machine".
