GK46-sorghi

Two sorghis.

A sorghi was an crocodile-like reptillian animal native to the Riza homeworld

History and specifics[]

Sorghis had grayish-green leathery scales and three or four tall spines along their backs. They had pointed teeth, forked tongues, and muscular, clawed feet. Some sorghis were kept leashed by Riza handlers and used as protective guard beasts.

In 2266, during a visit by the starship USS Enterprise, James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott saw several sorghis while making first contact with the Rizans. One defended a spear-wielding apparent tribe of natives.

After being altered by a device that enlarged his brain capacity but made him paraoid, Spock ordered the handlers to release all of their sorghis to attack Kirk, McCoy and Scott. Kirk immediately surrendered at the sight of them. (TOS comic: "Mr. Oracle")
