Sornek was a Vulcan active in the 22nd to 24th centuries, becoming director of the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations.

Biography[]

In January 2369, the DTI attempted to investigate Devidia II and its system to ensure there were no more temporal displacement chambers like the one destroyed by the USS Enterprise-D in a temporal adventure to 1893. However, before the investigation could take place, Director Sornek was contacted by Aegis agent Cyral Nine who advised him to leave the Devidians alone as, despite their predatory ways, they took great care to preserve the timeline. Sornek deduced that the various agencies that enforced the Temporal Accords didn't wish to provoke the Devidians to more drastic and disruptive measures, considering them a lesser evil in the grand scheme of things.

In February of that year, Sornek retired and was succeeded by Laarin Andos. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

Alternate timeline[]

In the parallel reality of Miri's Earth, Sornek was also a quantum scientist. In 2274, he headed up the Vulcan Protectorate team investigating a Vedala asteroid which had crossed over from the reality of the United Federation of Planets, causing a misadventure for the VHC Muroc. Sornek met with the displaced crew of the USS Enterprise from the alternate reality and collaborated with their Doctor T'Viss to send both ships back to their proper locations. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

Background[]

In Forgotten History, the Enterprise crew considers the parallel Sornek to be of similar age as Sarek, suggesting a birth date for Sornek somewhere around the timeframe of 2165.
