Sovar was a 23rd century Vulcan man, a civilian physicist.

Biography[]

Sovar was one of the Federation's acknowledged leaders in physics. He was a master of transporter systems, computer technology, and computer operations. He was also qualified in transporter operations and familiar with electronics.

In the 2260s, he was employed by Tachyon Micromechanics, Ltd., one of Starfleet's manufacturers of transporters. By 2269, he had become chief researcher at the company's leased laboratory on Deep Space Research Facility 39, which focused on debugging a new, experimental transporter system. He reported to lab administrator Salvatore Santini. (FASA RPG module: The Vanished)

In 2269 (on reference stardate 2/1111), he was 101 years old when the entire space station crew vanished during a routine communications check-in with the starship USS Enterprise. Investigation later found that an infestation by I'Iglii overloaded the transporter and dematerialized the station's personnel.
