Sozzerozs was the Gorn ruler, the Imperator, of the Gorn Hegemony during part of the late 24th century.
Biography[]
During the Borg Invasion of 2381, Federation President Nanietta Bacco called a summit of ambassadors of various star powers, including Ambassador Zogozin. Although Zogozin originally voted not to pledge support to Bacco's allied forces, she persuaded him to remind Sozzerozs that the Gorn stood with the Federation Alliance during the Dominion War and benefited from the decision, a fact that Zogozin suspected would sway their allegiance. In 2383, Sozzerozs attended a conference between the Khitomer Accords powers and the Typhon Pact that was organized by the Boslic Triumvirate of Cort. When Chancellor Martok arrived at the session, he referred to Sozzerozs as a PetaQ, enraging Sozzerozs. Sozzerozs later welcomed Nanietta Bacco's decision to release several Tzenkethi that the USS Enterprise had detained after the Enterprise intercepted Tzenkethi harriers attacking Federation freighters. In 2384, Sozzerozs visited Orion under orders from the Breen Confederacy's Domo. His orders were to distract the Federation with fake negotiations regarding Sozzerozs's wish to leave the Typhon Pact. While the Federation was distracted, the Breen would carry out a secret mission, one which would require a failed assassination attempt of President Bacco. As Sozzerozs drew out Bacco and her staff, the Breen made a staged assassination attempt. Unknown to the Gorn, however, a few people would actually be killed. Two of Sozzerozs's personal friends and advisers were hit. Nizor Szamra and Wazir Togor were hit by a phaser blast. After leaving Orion, Sozzerozs attempted to contact Brex, demanding an explanation. Brex was absent, Thot Tran picking up instead. When he demanded an explanation, Sozzerozs was merely told it was necessary. When the call ended, he consulted his Zulta-osol Azarog, who had him contact Gozorra, a Gorn who would provide the Federation with intelligence on the Breen. Sozzerozs now began to truly consider allying with the Federation, but he had to do it without the Typhon Pact finding out. (TNG - Cold Equations novel: Silent Weapons)
