Species B221 is the Borg designation for an assimilated people who were working on Transwarp Conduit technology. This may be the source of the Borg's Transwarp ability, as the timeframe for this assimilation is unknown. By this time the Borg had already met Species 8472. (NF novel: Missing in Action)
