Sri Lanka was a nation-state and region on planet Earth, an island located in the Indian Ocean. Residents were called Sri Lankans. (DS9 - YA series novel: Space Camp)

Sri Lanka was also known as Ceylon. Teak was a type of wood found in Ceylon. (ST reference: Star Fleet Technical Manual)

Sri Lanka was located in the Indian Ocean, southeast of the area where India's coastline came to a point. (Decipher RPG module: Worlds)

History and culture[]

The 20th century Human author Arthur C. Clarke lived in Sri Lanka for many years. Missy, a Sri Lankan girl who attended the Starfleet Junior Academy read Clarke's novels and had been inspired to join Starfleet by them. (DS9 - YA series novel: Space Camp)

On 10 July 1992 at his palace citadel in Chandigarh, India, Khan Noonien Singh announced his annexation of Sri Lanka into the Great Khanate, along with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. By the 2370s, the Sri Lanka Boulevard was a street named after this island nation. In 2372, Q offered Kathryn Janeway to visit this boulevard with her. (VOY episode: "Death Wish")
