St. Basil's Cathedral was a famous religious landmark on Earth, a monumental architectural structure. It is located in Red Square in Moscow, Russia. It was built in the 16th century.

History and specifics[]

In 2273, Weyland stripped Pavel Chekov of his memory and transported him to Moscow in 1942. He traveled in an automobile to Red Square and saw St. Basil's en route to a meeting with Joseph Stalin. (TOS novel: Home Is the Hunter)

In 2275, during a test of an experimental inversion drive, James T. Kirk experienced a hallucination in which he visited Red Square and saw St. Basil's. Kirk had the sensation that he was seeing it through the eyes of someone else. (TOS novel: The Wounded Sky)
