Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 6

The sixth season of Deep Space Nine was produced and aired in 1997 and 1998.

History

The series returns to the storyline of the Dominion War ravaging the Alpha Quadrant three months after it began, and matters are not going well for the former crew of Deep Space 9 nor those who remained on the station. The crew enters enemy space to destroy a ketracel-white facility, meanwhile Kira and those on the station start to organize a resistance, and Sisko leads a fleet to retake DS9. After driving the Dominion from the station and Bajor, Worf and Jadzia marry, Bashir meets with Augments to see about helping them, and O'Brien goes undercover to infiltrate the Orion Syndicate. As matter take a turn for the worst Sisko enlists the help of Garak to bring the Romulans into the war against the Dominion, later Sisko returns to Earth after losing his connection to the Prophets. Bashir encounters Sloan of Section 31 for the first time.

One very notable episodes is "Far Beyond the Stars", where Sisko experiences the life of a black science fiction writer in 1950s America. The episode was also adapted as a novelization.

This season also shows what happened with a group of Red Squad cadets who were mentioned to have gone on a training exercise in season 4.

Returning characters include Dukat, Garak, Nog, Rom, Kai Winn, Kasidy Yates, Leeta, Keiko, Molly, Zek, Brunt, Damar, Weyoun, Martok, Joseph Sisko, Ziyal, the Female Changeling and Ishka. The season introduces Vic Fontaine, Admiral William Ross and Sloan. Worf's son Alexander makes two appearances.
