In the aftermath of Star Trek: Coda, the three Julian Bashir installments have been revealed to have taken place in an alternate continuity, the First Splinter timeline.
The S31 series was announced for CBS All Access in 2019 but put on hiatus during the pandemic in 2020. Paramount+, the rebranded successor to CBS All Access, confirmed the plans to reschedule the production, which was downscaled from an ongoing series to a stand-alone televisionmovie.[1]
