Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Star Trek III is a boxed set of three separate TOS strategy board games published by West End Games in 1985. Notably, TOS novelist and FASA contributor John M. Ford wrote introductions for two of the games and contributed to game designs for all three.

Description[]

Star Trek III contains three simple games you can play again and again — an unparalleled value! As a bonus, Star Trek III includes two original short stories written by award-winning science fiction author John M. Ford.

Contents[]

The Kobayashi Maru[]

Starfleet Academy's most rigorous and demanding test, the Kobayashi Maru test has been beaten only once — by Cadet James T. Kirk. He won by cheating. Now you are faced with the same challenge. You can play against either the unchanged Starfleet version, or against Kirk's reprogrammed one. The first is unbeatable; even the tamer version is no walkover.

The Sherwood Syndrome[]

Situation: On the medieval planet Syngreal, a Federation sociologist has betrayed the Prime Directive and elevated a feudal lord to planetary dictator. Enterprise's mission: Depose him, without using advanced technology. Solution: Don forest green, and gather a group of merry men to oppose King Eyven's evil rule!

Free Enterpri$e[]

A fad for lime-green frofnobles is sweeping the system, but on Glisten IV, apricot snout-silks are all the rage — which do you buy? The trade-mad Glista, a wealthy and advanced race, have said they will join whichever culture proves the superior trader. So, for two frenetic weeks, the crew of the Enterprise must out-guess, out-trade, and out-smart the Klingons. Warning: The Klingons are rumored to be stockpiling thrint-whistles..."
