Background[]
- The collection's cover reproduces David Mattingly's 1992 reprint edition cover paintings for Log Four, Log Five, and Log Six. The USS Enterprise did not visit any space stations during the events in the omnibus. However, the ship did undergo repairs at Valeria's orbiting supply station, in TOS - Log Two novelization: The Lorelei Signal. The ship also visited Starfleet sector headquarters at Darius IV, where Harry Mudd was dropped off in TOS - Log Three novelization: Mudd's Passion. A starbase at Rifton was mentioned in "The Lorelei Signal", but the Enterprise didn't visit it.
- The Log Five cover illustration was reused for volume 2 of Pocket Books' 1995 omnibus Star Trek Logs 4-6.
